Frequently Asked Questions

WHAT IS THE BEST TIME FOR 3D PHOTOS?

If you're considering having a 3D/4D ultrasound, we would recommend scheduling it between the 28th and 33rd weeks of your pregnancy. This time frame typically yields the best results in terms of capturing clear face images, promoting interaction, and allowing you to see your baby's smiles and hair. However, it's important to note that high-quality images of your baby can be obtained at any point starting from as early as 8 weeks. This gives you some flexibility in choosing the timing of your ultrasound.

WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN 2D, 3D, 4D & 5D?

- 2D is the traditional ultrasound method that has been used for years. 2D produces a flatter, two-dimensional, black and white image of your baby. You can see the bone of the baby highlighted in white.

- 3D is an advanced method which captures a true, three-dimensional image of your baby, often allowing the ability to see specific facial features and well-defined formation. Baby will appear in a yellow/tan color.

- 4D creates a live video effect, like a movie — you can watch your baby smile or yawn! This ultrasound will show baby as if you are in the three dimensional image, but captures baby in action.

- 5D is exciting new technology that lets you see your baby in realistic view or what many call the flesh tone look. This will show baby with reddish/pinkish color as if you are seeing baby inside the womb.

HOW MUCH WATER SHOULD I DRINK?

When it comes to preparing for your ultrasound appointment, it is important to maintain proper hydration. It is recommended to drink 2 to 3 liters of water each day for approximately 7-10 days leading up to the scan. This helps ensure an adequate amount of amniotic fluid around the baby, which can result in clearer images during the ultrasound. It is important to note that drinking a large amount of water right before the scan is not advised, as it takes time for the fluid to accumulate. Therefore, it is best to maintain consistent hydration in the days leading up to the appointment.

On the day - While it isn't required to have a completely full bladder for the ultrasound, it can be advantageous to have a small amount of urine present. This is because it can be utilized as a means to stimulate movement in a less cooperative baby during the ultrasound.
We like our mums to be comfortable during their session.

WHEN CAN I FIND OUT THE GENDER OF MY BABY?

At Baby & Me 3D, we are pleased to offer guaranteed gender determination starting from 14 weeks. However, it's important to keep in mind that the cooperation of the baby during the session cannot be guaranteed. Various factors such as body tissue content, developmental stage, and fetal position can influence the accuracy of determining the gender of the fetus. While we strive to provide accurate results, it's important to acknowledge that certain variables are beyond our control. We appreciate your understanding in this matter.
